In a free and fanciful way, Intoxicated by My Illness follows the steps of a recent phase in Dwoskin's life, which led him from a medical check-up to intensive care. Mainly, it is an illusion about erotic fantasy – above all, the atrocious and moving ambiguity of the bodily sensation that unfolds between intense pain and infinite pleasure, between the figures of the nurse (who perhaps he imagines as a dominatrix), and the bondage dominatrix touching the "dominated" body in the most tender way imaginable. Often, Dwoskin covers the so-called "film music" to place his "own dramatisation" in the foreground in an ironic way, while dragging us towards a rare and precious intimacy in extremis.
