Two strolls through art: in 1914 and 1915, Sacha Guitry filmed Rodin, Degas, Monet and Renoir, bringing together a unique cinema testament on the great artists of the time; in 1952, he made a sound version in which he commented on the plans. In 2001, Sokurov started an onyrical, night crossing from St Petersburg to the Boymans museum in Rotterdam: «I sought happiness and joy in the eyes of the people I met between Russia and the end of western Europe, but what I sought I only found in two ancient pictures...» (Sokurov).
