Nine segments animated by the Quay Brothers and Keith Griffiths, originally made for the documentary The Cabinet of Jan Svankmajer, Prague's Alchemist, part of the series Visions for Channel Four (UK) with the aim of illustrating the work of Jan Svankmajer. The topics discussed include the importance of objects in the work of this Czech filmmaker, their transformation and the strange combination through specifically cinematographic techniques, the influence of surrealism in his work, and the subversive and radical role of humour.
