De l'Origine du XXIe siècle is a review of the images that define the 20th century. Back in time, it goes back to 1900 through cinematographic and literary references. As if it were a collage, Godard works from very diverse found footage: fiction films, sound effects, archive images of the war of the former Yugoslavia and the Second World War, among others. The filmmaker digs into and operates with the audiovisual and literary memory of the 20th century to invoke the power of cinema as a historical-social instrument.
