Contre-jour

Stimulation of the senses to tell the viewer, through found footage, precisely what is not there. Girardet and Müller make us experience blindness in this masterfully edited piece.
When, after his screening at Xcèntric (Xperimenta 2011), a viewer in the audience asked him why he had made a film about blindness, Matthias Müller replied that it is probably because it is his most atavistic fear. As a filmmaker and artist, becoming blind is what most terrifies him.
