This short film dedicated to Ema Hank is a collaboration with the famous composer Stockhausen, who composed and directed the music for the film. In Absentia combines live action and captivating light effects to convey the mental landscape of Ema Hauck, who went crazy after the death of her husband. Hospitalised in a sanatorium, she wrote letters to her husband featuring a single sentence repeated over and over again: "Come back, dear, come back."
