“Raising questions about documentary form and the representation of historic events, Campbell presents a story about a futurist automobile, the famous car featured in Back to the Future, as a parody of the American myth of mobility. Gordon Matta-Clark films the process of destruction of a truck. Finally, Anderson decides to explore Los Angeles without a car, an almost impossible task, focusing on the smallest, most insignificant elements of its landscape: advertising hoardings, façades of buildings, snippets of music and conversations.
