The film begins with the director’s trip to Mozambique in search of old films made there; however, he is saddened by strange premonitions. Urgent news about his father’s health oblige him to return to his native Venezuela and spend some time with him. As in his previous film, Color perro que huye (Colour Runaway Dog), Duque pursues a highly personal line of work that is both autobiographical and oneiric, flowing from the personal to the political (International Film Festival Rotterdam).
Dress Rehearsal for Utopia, Andrés Duque, 2012, 75’ (attended by the filmmaker).
