Carolina Cappa works with and from film archives, specialising in film preservation and research. She worked as an archivist at the Museo del Cine "Pablo Ducrós Hicken" (Buenos Aires) and the Cinemateca Boliviana (La Paz), as well as on various film restoration projects. She directed the Argentine silent film preservation project Nitrato argentino, una historia del cine de los primeros tiempos, published in a freely accessible book and website. She also works as a teacher of audiovisual media and has taught on the Image and Sound Design degree at the University of Buenos Aires (from which she graduated), as well as other training centres in Argentina, Latin America and Spain. She’s currently the coordinator of the Research department at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (Donostia), where she also teaches, and is developing the project Segunda mano, Reutilización y desvíos en el cine iberoamericano, collaborating in the digitisation of the collections of Cinemateca de Cuba, Filmoteca Española and Arsenal Institute for Film and Video Art.
