This film was commissioned as an advertisement for the Chrysler company. Len Lye obtained filmed archive recordings of a car assembly. By using hundreds of cuts with discontinuity, he managed to create a dramatically accelerated version of the process of mounting a vehicle, synchronised with the rhythms of African drum music.
