The film was reconstructed and completed in 1995 by Javier Codesal from the editing and sound work that Val del Omar had sketched out before his death.
His notes reveal that he considered alternative titles – such as Acariño de la Terra Meiga, Acariño a nosa terra or Barro de ánimas – and that he intended to add a second sound channel based on environment recordings he hoped to obtain through the first screenings of the film in the same places and among the same people who were its origin.
