Rewrites, DOUBLE SESSION*

Directors
René Allio
In 1975, Allio shot "I, Pierre Rivière, Having Slaughtered My Mother, My Sister and My Brother..." based on texts written by the assassin himself in 1835 and taken up by Foucault in a psychiatric study. Philibert, as assistant director for this singular film, was in charge of finding people from the countryside, non-professional actors, to play the roles of 19th Century peasants. Thirty years later, he returned to Normandy to find these people again and portray both their lives and the vicissitudes of the shooting of Allio's film. "Present and past, memory, madness, writing, the word, illness, death hanging over us, the passage of time, the law, transmission." (Philibert).
