The new Xcèntric Archive incorporates a multi-purpose space, in which the possibility of projections is added to other practical and didactic ones, in the form of workshops, talks or shared experiences. We will start with the session of Introduction to Cinematographic Artifacts, an introduction to Xcentric cinema, directed by filmmaker Adriana Vila, who will offer direct access to the physical and instrumental nature of film in photochemical support, a world that not only refuses to disappear but it is substantial to numerous works and practices shown in Xcèntric.
And it opens its doors with the addition of new titles and authors, among which we highlight a collection of films of the Quay Brothers with titles like The Cabinet of Jan Švankmajer (1984), This Unnameable Little Broom (1985), Street of Crocodiles (1986), Rehearsals for Extinct Anatomy (1987), the Stille Nacht series, The Comb (1990), Anamorphosis (1991) or In absentia (2000). The documentary by Pip Chodorov Free Radicals, which is a masterful introduction to experimental cinema and the documentary Sois belle et tais toi! of Delphine Seyrig, among others.
