Flesh thou art

While Catholic tradition has for centuries instilled in us the maxim “Dust thou art, to dust returnest” as a negative reading of our physical dimension, “Flesh thou art” is an apology of the human body. Yet it is a body that is removed from the spectacular, a misshapen and deformed body, a body at its limits, a body that presents itself to us, ultimately, as the only ethical proof.
