In Alone. Life Wastes Andy Hardy, Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland are cloned in an experimental backyard musical. The starting point is a series of scenes from the time when they were both teenagers and rose to fame with family series and Busby Berkeley musicals. These are arranged in a new order and pass back and forth before our eyes in a "soft adagio". Andy Hardy, the smiling, typically American boy of the 30s and 40s, returns as an oedipally destroyed adolescent clone who must be freed from his suffering by Betsy's songs and kisses.
