Synopsis: Modern man is a slave to time, a time that is measured and assimilated in ever smaller portions. Meanwhile, wise voices tell him that it is relative. Powerless between these two concepts of time, the cinema steps in conveniently as a means to manipulate it at whim: stretching it, compressing it, interrupting it or exploring it, brought to a standstill, as if we were gods. This programme investigates the impact on our imaginary of these tricks, along with the history, technique and narrative of slow motion, pixilation, the time slice and time-lapse photography.
