Experimental filmmaker and composer of electronic music. Cinema and video curator of the Buenos Aires modern art museum in a (MAMBA), 1998 -2004. Claudio Caldini was born in Buenos Aires in 1952. He studied film at the Instituto Nacional de Cinematografía and has been an experimental filmmaker since 1970. He has been curator at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, received a grant from the Fundación Antorchas and won the first Premio de la Primera Semana Cine Experimental de Madrid (1991) and the Gran Premio de la Muestra Franco-Latinoamericana de Video Arte (1994). His films have been shown at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Argentina, the Millennium Film Workshop in New York, the Instituto Cervantes in Paris, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, the Cineteca Nacional de Chile in Santiago and the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, among other venues. In 2018 he was awarded the prize for an Artistic Career in Audiovisual Arts of the Fondo Nacional de las Artes de Argentina.
