Durchsehekunst

For 25 years, Werner Nekes has been collecting literature, scientific objects and optical toys (some 500 years old) that have made the invention of the camera obscura possible. The film is a journey through the inventions and thoughts (based on zootropes, cut-out books, Chinese cardboard and distorted mirrors) that, step by step, have been shaping the history of cinema.
