A Colour Box

A Colour Box is one of cinema’s first direct films that has been bequeathed to us. Lye creates dance lines and shots of colours. It uses several techniques: presentation by means of a comb of colour, scraping the film after having dried the painting, apposition of templates of stencilling forms and text on coloured backgrounds.
