Screenings

In Parallel with “In Transition”

Variations on the Real

In their only and practically "invisible" film, Animación en la sala de espera (Entertainment in the Waiting Room), Rodríguez Sanz and Coronado filmed a caustic, harsh and terrible vision of life in a psychiatric hospital in Spain in the early years of the Transition, in all of its banality, showing activities (theatre, dance, simple tasks) and the words and bodies of the patients. A memorable document on family oppression and the nightmares generated by a society and its History.

Prólogo (Prologue), Gerardo Malla, Spain, 1969. 25', video. (VOE / VOESF).
Animación en la sala de espera (Entertainment in the Waiting Room), Carlos Rodríguez Sanz and Manuel Coronado. Spain, 1981. 80', video. (VOE / VOESF).
