With great confidence and sensibility in the face of his subjects, Óscar Pérez captures the unusual side of the small everyday events of life in a discreet approach without recourse to dramatic effects. In his first full-length feature, he continues with another two chapters of the story that began with El sastre, winner of the IDFA Silver Cup: the power relations, in an 8 m2 tailor’s shop in the Raval, between the Pakistani owner and his Indian assistant. We then see the employee’s strange relation with a Russian woman (with no common language) and the disputes of Mohamed the tailor with his new assistant, his brother Alyas. Ventrada is the portrait of a paralytic shepherd.
