The cycle closes with the principal work in the filmography of Iván Zulueta, a cult film in Spanish cinematography. In it, Zulueta brings together many of the techniques used in previous shorts, such as A Mal Gam A, Frank Stein and Kinkón, made in super-8, combining a series of themes that draw on his childhood. An out-and-out hypnotic feature, with a mystical charge that is open to various readings, Arrebato is an undeniable masterwork well worth salvaging from its obscurity beyond our borders.
Arrebato, Iván Zulueta, 1980, 35 mm, 105 min.
