Sonia García López is a tenured professor in the Department of Communication at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and teaches in the postgraduate programs of Creation, Curation, and Archive at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. Her research interests include Spanish Civil War cinema, Francoism, and the transition period, with an emphasis on archival use. She has published several books and articles on these topics and has also worked in the field of curation. Her contributions as a researcher and independent curator have played a role in recovering the work of students from the Film School (Escuela Oficial de Cinematografía).
