The visual artist and film critic, Marla Jacarilla, presents Kantate, a film made by the Austrian painter, Maria Lassnig, when she was over seventy and in which she goes back over her life. Filmed on 35 mm, Kantate [The Ballad of Maria Lassnig] combines real images with animation but its most unusual feature is the fact that it's sung by the artist herself. An original film that's fun, tender and uninhibited, demonstrating Lassnig's amazingly boundless ability to marvel at life.
