Although he was initially interested in still images, after collaborating with Jonas Mekas, Lluís Escartín (Barcelona, 1966) decided to replace his photographic camera with a video one and began to travel through jungles, deserts and other inhospitable places. His documentaries are observational films in which he explores the relationship between objectivity and twilight. He founded El Armadillo Productions in New York and was director of the UFO festival in Barcelona, among many other activities. His works include Texas Sunrise (2002), Terra incògnita (2005) and Nescafé-Dakar (2008).
