Andrés Denegri was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. He is a visual artist, centring on film, video, installations and photography. He graduated from the Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires. He teaches at the Universidad Nacional Tres de Febrero, where he created and directed CONTINENTE, a research and production centre dedicated to supporting and disseminating the audiovisual arts. He is also co-director of the Biennial of Moving Image (BIM) and guest curator of film and video at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires. His awards include the Gran Premio del Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales (2015), Gran Premio del Concurso de Artes y Nuevas Tecnologías MAMBA/Fundación Telefónica (2009) and the Mar del Plata Film Festival’s Prize for the Best Short Film (2008).
